Lilah Gow has had dance in her body as a form of expression and therapy since the day she could walk. Moving through childhood and into her teens, dance became her primary language, eventually leading her to pursue a career in the arts. She trained and graduated from Brent Street Performing Arts, working in the commercial dance industry and teaching dance and choreography for over a decade.
Over time, Lilah’s relationship with dance began to shift. The elitist, perfection-driven narratives around movement—where only certain bodies or abilities are deemed “worthy” no longer rang true. Following multiple injuries and decades of chronic pain from undiagnosed endometriosis, traditional dance spaces stopped feeling supportive or aligned.
Through training in Conscious Connected Breathwork, deep personal development work within women’s circles, and discovering embodied movement practices such as 5Rhythms through Gina Chick, Lilah felt called back to movement in a different way, one rooted in sensation, choice, and deep listening.
Now based in Canberra, Lilah is co-director of Synergy Styles alongside Stephen, where she supports a holistic, body-intelligent approach to movement. She facilitates workshops such as Sessions Shake, creating inclusive spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, release stored tension, and move from how it feels rather than how it looks.
At the heart of Lilah’s teaching is a passion for guiding people back into personal body awareness. She invites students to slow down enough to notice the signals arising within the body sensations, impulses, and boundaries so they are not missed or bypassed, but listened to and respected. Her work supports people to build a deeper, more trusting relationship with their bodies, honouring movement as a tool for both physical strength and emotional wellbeing.
Since discovering Praksis in 2022, Lilah has found a community that aligns with her values, integrating strength training with embodiment, nervous system awareness, and sustainable movement practices that support long-term health and connection.
